Earlier this year, Reliance Medical Transport was proud to be named Best Ambulance Service in Virginia Beach by Business Rate. While we shared the exciting news in a previous announcement, we wanted to take a moment to go deeper by speaking with someone who plays a pivotal role in our day-to-day operations: Elizabeth Nethery, our Operations Chief.
In a recent interview, she shared her thoughts on what sets Reliance apart and what this honor means to the team.
A Family Culture That Drives Excellence
“I think what sets Reliance apart is that we are a family,” said Elizabeth. “When you work at Reliance, you aren’t just another employee. We take pride in getting to know our team members and creating a culture where everyone feels welcome.”
This award is more than just a proud moment for Reliance; it’s a meaningful one. “This award is a representation of the effort we put in every day to make sure we are providing the best possible service to all of our patients and their families,” said Elizabeth. It’s not just our technical skills that count. Our team members bring compassion and integrity to every call.
Our Work in the Community
At Reliance, we’re often praised for our strong relationships in the community. “Those relationships begin within our company,” explained Elizabeth. “We then carry them out into the community by showing others how much we value them as a patient. We have a saying around here: We care for others the way we would want someone to care for our family members.” That approach creates a ripple effect. It inspires trust and confidence in the people we serve, and it’s a core reason why we’ve become a trusted name in medical transport across Hampton Roads.
“We love to give back,” Elizabeth noted. “We have regular volunteer opportunities around Hampton Roads, everything from working at the food bank to preschool show & tells. We’ve also raised thousands of dollars through our ‘T-Shirts for a Cause’ program.” Community engagement is part of our DNA at Reliance. Whether it’s donating our time or raising money for meaningful causes, we stay deeply connected to Virginia Beach and the surrounding region.
