Reliance Chief Operating Officer David Carter describes his recent flight to our Salisbury office on September 11, 2024:

Flying on September 11th this year was an emotional experience for me as I headed to visit our North Carolina office. As I landed, I saw a ceremony at the airport where employees stood together in silence while a military band played Taps. It was a powerful reminder of that day in 2001 and the lives forever changed by the events that unfolded. I couldn’t help but reflect on the critical role medical transport plays in caring for people, especially in times of need.

That moment reminded me of the countless first responders who showed up with courage and resolve. Our industry’s commitment to patient care and safety remains just as vital. The dedication of our team to ensuring patients are transported with care and respect is something I’m proud to be a part of.

It’s in these quiet moments, like watching that ceremony, that I’m reminded how essential our work is. We may not always be in the spotlight, but our role in supporting those in need of medical transport is a critical part of the healthcare journey.

And it’s a responsibility we take to heart every single day.
